Cheryl Dudley Title: "Wait Upon the Lord" Using the Labyrinth |
Workshop Description:
“Thus says the Lord: stand at the crossroad, and look and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16
This workshop will provide an opportunity for ministerial leaders to learn about and experience the labyrinth as a tool for both individual and community spiritual reflection. The workshop will be appropriate for persons new to the labyrinth as well as seasoned “walkers.” Classic and new patterns of the labyrinth will be used during the workshop. Come prepared to listen, share, walk, and journal.
Presenter:
Formerly with National Ministries, the Rev. Dr. Cheryl F. Dudley joined the staff of Church World Service as Senior Advisor in January 2006. Church World Service is an ecumenical relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry that works in partnership to support sustainable self-help development, meet emergency needs, aid refugees, and help address the root causes of poverty and powerlessness around the world. Cheryl has been utilizing the labyrinth as a prayer tool for about eight years. As a trained labyrinth facilitator, she has particularly enjoyed exposing the labyrinth to American Baptists. Dudley uses classic and contemporary labyrinth patterns in this prayer ministry. Several different patterns will be used in the workshop, including a pattern she designed herself.
